West Byfleet, United Kingdom - April 18, 2018 /PressCable/ —
Of interest to all Health professionals, advocacy group representatives and people with MS, the webinar will discuss how technology can be used to increase access to services.
“Digital health: how can technology be used to engage hard-to-reach patients and assist with patient monitoring” will bring together a panel of experts who will offer practical help on utilizing digital health in everyday practice.
The webinar, hosted by pharmaphorum with the support of the MS Trust and Biogen, is part of the Quality in the Delivery of Services (QuDoS) in MS recognition programme.
MS professionals are asked to manage multiple physical and psychological symptoms while following complicated drug monitoring regimes, all in the face of shirking resources and growing caseloads.
Across the UK, however, technology is being used to overcome these obstacles, by erasing geographic boundaries and expanding access. From conducting video consultations to setting up online peer support groups, digital health can and is being utilised to improve services for everyone.
Among the speakers will be the MS Trust’s director of development, Jo Sopala.
MS Society ambassador and People’s Strictly star, Trishna Bharadia will give the patient’s perspective. Trishna, who was diagnosed in 2008, will look at how digital health can be used to meet the information, support and engagement needs of people with MS.
Specialist MS healthcare professionals Rachel Morrison from NHS Western Isles will explain how she has used technology to improve their own services and offer tips and advice on how best to utilise technology.
During the discussion, the panel will explain how digital health can be used to:
Increase patient access to quality, trusted information through digital translation services
Offer greater support through online peer support and symptom management apps
Boost adherence through electronic reminder systems
Increase involvement in clinical trials through wearable technologies
Increase access to services through remote appointments
“Digital health: how can technology be used to engage hard-to-reach patients and assist with patient monitoring” will take place at 12.30pm on 20 April.
