Nov 17, 2020

When Jessica Craig was experimenting with ingredients in her kitchen to develop a healthier alternative to soda for her family, she was not looking to be a beverage industry innovator. She just wanted a fizzy, satisfying drink without the sugar or sugar substitutes her family would enjoy. Little did she know that just over a year later, TARTA Beverages, the company she founded, would be a semi-finalist at one of the world’s most influential beverage business competitions.

From startup to her debut on the national stage, Jessica remembers everyone that helped her along the journey. “I’m so honored to be at the New Beverage Showdown. I wouldn’t have been here without the people at Oregon State University Food Innovation Center, especially Sarah Masoni, whose excitement and sincerity sold me on their team and whose expert guidance led me here today. From my taste-testing children, to my husband yelling “TARTA” as if he were an ancient Greek, the support everywhere has been substantial.”

Three signature fizzy, refreshing seltzers are currently available. Sweet tooths can be satisfied with Honey WildFlower , Champagne Lemon Citrus delivers bright and vibrant citrus notes , and Orange Blossom Ginger delivers a slightly sweet, tangy refreshing treat. All three all-natural flavors are infused with white balsamic vinegar. These delicate fruit balsamics provide all of the health benefits of apple cider drinking vinegars without the harsh tasting experience. TARTA intends to redefine seltzers with a functional, fitness forward drink perfect for the health conscious mom-on-the-go or the weekend workout warrior!

BevNET’s New Beverage Showdown 20 is a two-day virtual pitch competition presented by Coca Cola’s Venturing & Emerging Brands.
