Stan Morrison's New Book 'Our Warriors of the Ridge: Living Through an Inferno' is a Gripping Tale of Survival in the Face of the Dangerous California Wildfire of 2018
Jul 21, 2021
Stan Morrison, a California journalist, has completed his new book "Our Warriors of the Ridge: Living Through an Inferno": a gripping tale of one couple's struggle when faced with a destructive California wildfire.
Author Stan Morrison recollects, "We awakened at around 8:40 a.m. To us, everything was normal, with the exception of explosions seemingly happening around us. What was going on? Our phone rang at 9:00 a.m., and it was my brother letting us know that a major fire was engulfing Paradise and our area. I thanked him and hung up. I informed Linda and pulled open the drapes, and saw the large fire-fighting choppers overhead, with their long nozzles to suck in water from (presumably) Paradise Lake, and the plumes of dark smoke. It was then that I knew we were out of luck."
Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Stan Morrison's captivating tale following a couple's journey through life after the fire.
Just months after settling in their new home in California, Stan and his wife, Linda, are forced to flee from an encroaching wildfire only to discover their new abode is nothing but ash. This tale follows the couple through the heartache and determination that followed what should have been a beautiful beginning of the next chapter of their lives.
