She then went on to complete a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery with Active Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Group, focusing on advanced techniques of sports medicine, ankle arthroscopy, and total joint and ankle replacements in addition to trauma and foot and ankle reconstruction procedures.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (DABPM), which exists to offer podiatric physicians a comprehensive board qualification and certification process. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association.

In her professional experience, Dr. Patel maintains active privileges at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, and Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgical Center.
