Pamela Bruner, leading business consultant and coach to coaches, says that three main mistakes are preventing most coaches from building their own seven-figure businesses.
The three mistakes are:
1. Using the term ‘life coaching’ in online marketing materials
2. Offering help in too many areas
3, Trying to market a transformational process
Pamela Bruner has built her own coaching business – coaching coaches – and is very familiar with the challenges faced by those who are just starting out in this field, as well as those who are working to scale their businesses. While “life coaching” is a great service, using that term is too general and the benefits of life coaching are unclear to the public, so coaches who use this term in their marketing wll struggle.
In addition, offering help in too many areas serves to confuse potential clients. When coaches offer help in many different areas, such as ‘business and life’ or ‘health, business and relationships’ potential clients don’t see this as a “this OR that list.” Instead, if they don’t need help in ALL these areas, they decide they can’t benefit from that coach’s services.
The final mistake, marketing based on a transformational process, is not as effective online as offering results-oriented solutions. “I’m a coach certified in ____” doesn’t work as an online message unless the person delivering that message is highly charismatic, and the charisma often doesn’t translate online. In-person marketing, based on charisma, is often effective for those with an abundance of magnetism. But online marketing is different. Pamela Bruner has found that a results-oriented approach is usually much more effective.
“Most coaches who have tried to find their ideal coaching clients online have made three main mistakes that we have effective remedies for,” said Pamela Bruner, CEO of Attract Clients Online. “We have helped our clients immensely by helping them take a look at their branding and marketing and recast their offerings to find their dream clients. At Attract Clients Online, we have been very successful in helping coaches who are just getting started and trying to get their first few clients, as well as those who are established coaches and want to scale their existing businesses to six or seven figures, or more! “
