The board member training course includes key instruction on best practices and compliance, along with plenty of done-for-teams tools to help build a high-performing organization. It also offers numerous insights and resources to enhance board dynamics and effectiveness.
According to a leading accounting firm, 44% of organizations report attracting board members and leaders as a moderate-to-high-level challenge. And with 45% of boards having more than 20 board members, having them work harmoniously can be difficult.
The "Build a Rockstar Board" course addresses these issues by delivering the necessary board member training many organizations fail to provide. It focuses on three crucial factors that are usually neglected: the Members, the Meetings, and the Money. It also reinforces the critical concepts of understanding roles, aligning on strategies, and raising funds.
The self-paced nonprofit board training course also includes various resources, including an orientation checklist that prepares and empowers new members to work. It also features a fundraising worksheet, which teaches members to raise money with accountability.
Mind the Gap Consulting is headed by Sean Kosofsky, known in industry circles as the 'Nonprofit Fixer.' He has decades of experience running various nonprofits, including NARAL Pro-Choice of North Carolina and the voter engagement organization Blueprint North Carolina. He also ran the Tyler Clementi Foundation and the Climate Advocacy Lab. He has served on numerous boards including Planned Parenthood, ACLU and State Voices.
"I have worked in and led nonprofits for 30+ years and specialize in helping young and small nonprofits accelerate their results," remarked Kosofsky. "Every nonprofit is different. I customize our time together so you can raise money, build the board of your dreams, and have more impact."
