July 09, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - STD testing has been associated with some form of stigma for a long time now. Most people do not want to walk into a testing center to get tested for various STDs. This has complicated the process of fighting with the spread of different STDs. This is because spreading when people do not know their status is easy and fast.
Meet Positives, an online dating platform that provides space for people living with STDS to mingle and find love has launched a new service that involves the provision of at-home STD test kits online. Speaking during the announcement, the founder of Meet Positives, Jack Lombardi Said, “There are many reasons why fighting STDs has become a difficult process of late. One of the main reasons is the fact that there are many people who are afraid of getting tested. The thought of walking into a doctor’s clinic or a testing center has kept a lot of people away from knowing their status. The use of these test kits will encourage people to get tested since it is in the comfort of their privacy.”
The test kits are sent to the address provide and the person who orders them will only need to collect samples. The samples will be sent to a lab and get examined. Once the results are ready, they will be sent through private means to make sure that the person’s privacy is maintained. The site says it is easy to get tested for STDs at home now.
