December 9, 2021 —
Newly launched in Sydney, Australia, Koa Ceramics Co. is a woman-led small business that aims to create the perfect rustic touch for the home or gift to a loved one, with designs that incorporate elements of intention, presence, and self-empowerment. They do this with a new range of earthware and stoneware suitable for every home.
The name itself, Koa, means happy, brave, or fearless, showcasing the Polynesian/Hawaiian roots at the heart of the business. The team makes ceramics from Australian clay and glazes, as well as high-quality Aussie stoneware. As such, when a customer buys from Koa Ceramics Co., they support AU business during all stages of the production process, helping sustain a range of local economies.
Their new range of goods includes affirmation trinket dishes, based on the creator’s experiences of using affirmations to stay positive and resilient during the lockdown. These dishes offer gentle reminders of self-love, encouraging the owner to recognise that what they need and want is already inside themselves. The store also offers ring dishes, incense holders & burners, spoon rests & holders, and jewellery dishes. Each of these goods is respectfully created on Eora land.
Koa Ceramics Co., and the wider process of making pottery, use all four elements, earth, fire, water, and air. As such, they recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy world and contribute to that by using eco-friendly packaging, including biodegradable and recyclable components. Furthermore, they plant one tree for each item purchased (through the One Tree Planted project) and provide carbon-neutral delivery for all of their products. Through all of their business initiatives, they aim to choose eco-friendly alternatives and consistently strive to do better for the planet.
As well as being driven by well-being and using eco-sustainable practices, Koa Ceramics Co. also aims to provide ceramics that are practical and stylish. This includes a range of customisable mugs and dishes which can make for great gifts for all occasions, be it a birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Mother’s Day or otherwise.
