He was not only one of NCMC's General Partners but also the hospital's Chief of Surgery and the Founder of the High-Risk Breast Center. HCA purchased North Cypress Medical Center in 2018 and renamed the hospital HCA Healthcare Houston-North Cypress. Today, he sits on the hospital's Board of Directors. He also performs surgery at Methodist Hospital Willowbrook and Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland.
