The bylaws of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association provide the following objectives and goals:

The Board of Governors elections take place once a year at the Annual Convention. A nominating committee presents a slate of officers and board members, and also takes nominations from the floor. The Board members serve for one year and are expected to attend board meetings and to participate in PAC, TTLA outreach, and education, and to assist legislative issues.
