Beaufort, United States - September 14, 2023 /PressCable/ —

Following its release in July, 'The Summer Of Songbirds' has quickly accrued a number of notable accolades. Recently, that list grew, as the book has received recognition from JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who is best known for her role as Maddie Townsend on Netflix’s 'Sweet Magnolias'. The actress’s blog, The Happy Place, recently included the novel in its reading recommendations list for August.

This designation is the latest in a series of awards garnered by the title since its NYT-bestselling debut. As Kristy Woodson Harvey’s 10th mainline novel release, it comes on the heels of her previous title, 'The Wedding Veil', and the breakout success of her seminal Peachtree Bluff series, which is currently being adapted for the screen by NBC.

'The Summer Of Songbirds' is directly inspired by Harvey’s upbringing in North Carolina, featuring a tale of quintessentially southern heartache told in the author’s signature bittersweet prose.

The story centers around a summer camp for girls owned and operated by June Moore, whose financial situation and personal circumstances threaten to unravel all she has built. When three estranged childhood friends and former campers hear of the trouble, they must reunite despite their own personal struggles in order to save the camp that they all love so dearly.

The book has been widely embraced by Harvey’s readers and new fans alike as a feel-good, heartwarming summer read, earning the title a 4.5/5 on Goodreads.

One reviewer said, “It’s hard to come down from the euphoria of reading this awesome Southern Women’s Fiction story. It’s simply the best Women’s Fiction I’ve read this year. The completeness of the characterization of each of the cast members; the rich, descriptive narrative that took me there alongside them, and the emotional buildup I felt as the reader in each person’s life because they seemed so real to me.”

The novel is an ideal choice for book clubs and commute reading and has already been adopted in literary circles across the country.

Although the novel’s release has put a temporary hold on Harvey’s in-person appearances, signed copies of 'The Summer Of Songbirds' and a selection of her other titles are available on her website.
