New York City, New York Oct 20, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - A well-versed internist & a member of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Callejas can be found on staff at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Texas.

From high-quality medical services to nationally renowned medical education and residency programs, Methodist Dallas Medical Center is a leading healthcare resource in North Texas. It has been consistently recognized for its high standards of care for heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and other medical issues that require expert-level treatment.

In 1979, Dr. Callejas graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Honduras. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at Memorial Health in 1996.

Subsequent to his training, he attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Practicing general internal medicine, Dr. Callejas moved to Texas to join Oak Cliff Family Healthcare. For over 22 years, he managed a high-volume practice with his three partners. He focused his practice on caring for highly complex patients, providing preventive care, as well as maintaining chronic diseases with an emphasis on quality improvement. In 2017, he and his partners sold their practice to Wellmed and Dr. Callejas continued to work for Wellmed until he retired in March 2019. On August 10th, 2020, he returned to work for Wellmed at the same office he retired from and continues to serve the community.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Every year from 2013 to 2018, Dr. Callejas was recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Doctors in Internal Medicine.

At present, he lives in Frisco with his wife of four decades. They have 5 grown children and 11 grandchildren.
