Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Charlie C. Rouse, who serves patients in Carrollton, Georgia.

New York City, New York Jan 28, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - An accomplished cardiologist, Dr. Rouse founded West Georgia Cardiology in 2007. The practice, which is patient-centered and community-focused, is not only concerned with heart disease but also allows its patients to enjoy a better quality of life. The expansion of preventative services allows the practice to be even more proactive in reducing risk factors and the onset of cardiovascular disease.

Thriving under his leadership, the practice expanded with a state-of-the-art cardiology office on 129 Bankhead Highway in 2011. The doctor's philosophy of service to the patient, combined with the support of a knowledgeable team, creates excellence in both patient care and clinical results.

Originally from Waynesboro, Georgia, Dr. Rouse began his education at Morehouse College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Georgia State University and graduated with his medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee University in 1991.

Subsequently, he completed his residency in internal medicine through the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in 1997.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Rouse is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the Association of Black Cardiologists, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

In addition, West Georgia Cardiology is very active in the local Carrollton community, providing health fairs and sponsorships to local schools and other organizations. The practice also participates in medical mission trips worldwide, including to Africa, Mexico, Nevis, and Honduras.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Happily married, Dr. Rouse and his wife, Deirdre, have established The Rouse Foundation, which strives to optimize health outcomes in marginalized communities around the globe through education, early detection, prevention, and treatment. Together, they have a daughter, Chaturia, and a son, Camaray. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, fishing, writing poetry, and spending time with his family.
