Bernal has completed her new book "The Girl and the Bear": a heart warming story that follows Girl and Bear, childhood friends who shared the world and every treasure they found between the two of them, always finishing their adventures by sitting in their favorite big tree and watching the sun set.

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Bernadette I. Bernal's touching tale follows Girl and Bear after they've parted ways and years have passed, but they reunite as adults and the strength of their friendship is put on display as the pair butt heads and have to remember what they once had to avoid a conflict.
