San Francisco, CA, September 26, 2019 – Andrew Kushnick, MFT is pleased to announce the launch of Andrew Kushnick Psychotherapy in downtown San Francisco. Andrew provides individual therapy and couples therapy to Bay Area residents who are struggling with anxiety, burnout, relationship problems, depression and trauma.

For busy professionals who are putting in long hours at work while trying to lower their stress, keep relationships going, and enjoy their lives, Andrew offers concrete tools and techniques. As a former attorney, he brings a practical mindset to the therapy room, making the experience more accessible and actionable.

Andrew utilizes the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), which harnesses insights from neuroscience and attachment theory, helping couples replace frustrating patterns of repetitive conflict with new patterns of mutual caretaking and alleviation of distress. Andrew also incorporates brain-based techniques such as EMDR to heal the effects of upsetting or disturbing experiences, including how we were raised, what we’ve seen, how we were treated, and even how things have played out at work. His approach is also informed by CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), mindfulness-based therapy, and other evidence-based practices.

In describing how therapy can be most effective, Andrew states, “Over the past 6+ years, I’ve found that therapy clients want more than just affirmation, more than just someone who nods and says ‘uh huh.’ All of that is great, and I aim to bring warmth and humor into the therapy room. But clients should be able to use what we talk about, as quickly as possible.”

Andrew Kushnick Psychotherapy is located at 870 Market Street, Suite 980, in a bright, modern office within the historic Flood Building, across from Westfield San Francisco Centre. The building is directly adjacent to public transportation via the Powell Muni/Bart station. Appointments are available during afternoon and evening hours.
