Montezuma, Costa Rica - April 12, 2018 /PressCable/ —

The family-owned and operated Ylang Ylang Beach Resort and Spa is well-known as one of the best resorts in Costa Rica. Travellers from around the globe visit here to relax on the pristine, white beach front property in the midst of the jungle. The five star resort has all the comforts of home, unparalleled natural beauty, a restful Spa and a restaurant with incredible organic food. In addition, the Ylang Ylang is a sustainable property boasting a solar garden.

Despite all this, the resort has humble beginnings. The founders of Ylang Ylang, Lenny and Patricia Iacono, acquired this beachfront property in the late 1970s and made a living selling dried fruit. They opened a health food restaurant, El Sano Banano in the center of Montezuma.

Over time, the family developed the tropical beach front resort that was destined to be the Ylang Ylang. The Iaconos envisioned a stunning oasis for family, friends and partners to enjoy the natural beauty of Costa Rica. They more than succeeded in creating a secluded yet nurturing and relaxing environment.

The hotel and bungalows opened in 1989. In early 2004, founders Lenny and Patricia changed the name to Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, after the aromatic Indonesian flower that dots the resort grounds.

The Ylang Ylang restaurant was launched to keep the guests from having to leave the hotel and beach resort for their meals and establishing a more complete service. Lenny & Patricia’s home was transformed into this unique establishment … a shady, beach front palapa just yards from the ocean. Stone walkways part the lush tropical jungle to make way for guests.

Patricia and Lenny started with only a grove of coconut and banana trees Their years of hard work, dedication and a deep passion for nature have left an incredible legacy for their next generation and for the many fans of this beautiful hotel and beach resort in Costa Rica. The founders are now retired, but they left the Ylang Ylang Beach Resort and El Sano Banano in the capable hands of their children and spouses, Moraya, Emma and Syska. This generation continues their parents vision of the best hotel and beach resort in Costa Rica. They nurture it with the same love for nature, health, wellness, relaxation and natural adventures as the founders did.

Legal hurdles may make Weinstein's prosecution an exception

May 26, 2018

LOS ANGELES — Harvey Weinstein's arrest in New York Friday is a landmark moment in the #MeToo movement. Yet as authorities work through dozens of cases against famous figures in entertainment and other industries brought on by the Weinstein-inspired wave that began in October, legal hurdles may make such prosecutions the exception. While men including Kevin Spacey and Mario Batali remain under investigation, the next round of charges could well be against Weinstein again, who also is facing scrutiny from authorities in Los Angeles and London. One expert said prosecutors in those jurisdictions are unlikely to stand down or shift...

May 26, 2018

NEW YORK — The Latest on the sexual misconduct probe of film producer Harvey Weinstein (all times local): 11:40 a.m. Harvey Weinstein was in and out of custody so quickly in his rape case, he probably didn't have time to read the books he brought with him. The film mogul carried three books under his arm as he surrendered at a New York City police station Friday. One was "Something Wonderful: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway Revolution," by Todd Purdum. A second was Richard Schickel's biography of filmmaker Elia Kazan. The identity of the third book wasn't immediately apparent. Weinstein handed...

LOS ANGELES — Alicia Silverstone is divorcing her husband of nearly 13 years. The "Clueless" actress filed for divorce from Christopher Jarecki on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The two have been separated for two years. Divorce documents say the 41-year-old Silverstone and the 47-year-old Jarecki will share custody of their 7-year-old son. The papers cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and say spousal support will be based on a prenuptial agreement the couple signed when they were married, without giving details. Silverstone married the rock musician Jarecki in 2005 after eight years of dating.

Authorities drop assault charges against Hope Solo

May 26, 2018

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Prosecutors in Washington state have dropped domestic violence charges against former U.S. national team star goalkeeper Hope Solo. Solo was charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault in 2014 after police said she assaulted two family members at a home in Kirkland, east of Seattle. The case was delayed by appeals. KING-TV reports that city prosecutors dropped the charges Wednesday, saying the witnesses in the case wanted to move on with their lives and did not want to participate in a trial. An attorney for Kirkland, Melissa Osman, wrote in court documents that the circumstances were unlikely...

Rose McGowan on Weinstein: 'One win is a win for all of us'

May 26, 2018

NEW YORK — She was one of the earliest Harvey Weinstein accusers, and she thought the mogul might never face justice in a court of law. Now, actress Rose McGowan, who has accused Weinstein of raping her 20 years ago, is gratified but "still in shock" at his surrender Friday in a Manhattan courtroom on rape charges. And she prays that the charges will stick. "I still have very guarded hopes," McGowan told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday night. "The justice system has been something very elusive. I hope in this case it works. Because it's all true....
